The effect of using the cooperative inquiry method in learning the skills of passing from above and blocking in volleyball for students

Abstract:

The purpose of this paper is to preparing educational units using the cooperative inquiry method to teach the skills of overhand and blocking to the students of the research sample. The study also sought to identify the effect of these units on learning and accuracy of the skills of overhand and blocking for students. The study assumed the existence of statistically significant differences between the results of the pre- and post-tests of the experimental group in learning the skills of overhand and blocking in volleyball. The same differences were also verified in the post-tests between the two groups in the studied variables. The researcher relied on the experimental method that includes two equal groups (experimental and control) with pre- and post-tests. The educational units were applied to the research sample consisting of 20 students, who were distributed equally with 10 students per group. The tests for the two skills and their accuracy were conducted according to the specified sequence. The researcher implemented his main experiment using the method, where one educational unit was taught per week for six weeks. After that, the post-tests were conducted, and the data were analyzed using appropriate statistical methods to achieve the desired objectives of the research.
