Comparative study on selected physical fitness variables and dribbling ability of tribal and non-tribal football players

Abstract:

For high level performance in soccer, it depends on many things such as physical ability, mental capacity, and skill technique strategy etc. among this some of the qualities can improve directly through practice and some of them develop through experience. Among the qualities skill and fitness of a player can directly improve through practice which directly influences the playing ability of a player.
The purpose of the study was to measure the fitness status of tribal and non-tribal football players and to find out the difference between tribal and non-tribal footballers in skill, speed, agility and leg explosive strength. Four tests, Zig-Zag run through cones, 50 yard dash, 4x10 meter shuttle run and standing broad jump was conducted to measure dribbling ability, speed, agility and leg explosive strength accordingly. 
The results showed that no significant differences were found between tribal and non-tribal football players in case of all the four test variables.
