Association between body mass index and blood glucose levels in baghpat district women

Abstract:

Introduction: Obesity is the leading factor in the pathogenesis of health disorders such as hypertension and type-2 diabetes mellitus. Since BMI is the associated with obesity, the present study has been carried out to evaluate the association between diabetes and BMI. Material and Methods: A study has been carried including 2000 females between (21-60 years) were enrolled in the study, For the study 2000 women age between 21 to 60 years were selected. All 2000 subjects were from four age groups and these age groups were 21 to 30 years (group1), (group 2)31 to 40 years, 41 to 50 years (group 3) and 51-60 years (group 4). Sample selection was done in such way so that each category should have 500 samples for making even sample distribution in all groups. Statistical calculation was done using SPSS. Results: The association between BMI and diabetes was significant with increasing BMI at both the level (p<0.05, P <0.01). Conclusion: BMI and FBG are associated and subjects are therefore at risk of Obesity and its related conditions.
